I am going to be moving to Iceland SOON. I want to take a bike over (to save money on transportation).
I am a Vegan, if you will. I eat mostly raw foods and am health conscious (a health nut, if you will). I stay quite physically active so I should be able to get a job.
What I am wondering, though…. What can I take on the plane??
Like, I have these herbal formulas that I take (liquid, called tinctures) in quart jars.
My whole family is also going and the big question for my mom is… Can we take things like beans and/or rice or other grains in luggage? Could I take snacks, like dried, raw chips, dried fruit or anything like that, on the plane? Its a six hour flight and I would want to bring something to eat, or maybe just fast… I have not given it much thought.
Also, what about taking vacuum bags over??? I would guess that they might break it open? It would be nice if we could vacuum pack our clothes and such.
Foodsaver food vacuuming system, part 2. Cool tunes from Dr. Authur. Kasin shows how to use a small nail hole in the jar lid to easily release jar vacuum. Using recycled Mylar in food storage. She discusses pros and cons of food preservation using Foodsaver poly-bags, Mylar bags, and canning jars. When using the poly-bags, the layered approach is better – a recycled Mylar bag inside a Foodsaver poly–bag, double sealed on both ends.
Vacuum Sealing house hold Bottles for food storage in food vacuum bags. I use this when i need to open a 5gal super pail. It would take for ever to eat 50 lb of rice. So i repack it into smaller containers and seal back up the bucket.
