You know what I mean by the "space bags" – the storage bags where you suck the air out of them w/ a vacuum cleaner. My home can get humid at times and I don’t want the prints & antique wood frames to get moisture on them. I plan on displaying these antiques in my new home once we move in, but don’t want them exposed to the humidity in my old house – we have no AC in our current residence, unfortunately.
They are called "space bags" I believe and you vacuum out the air to save space…have you tried these and if so- what was you experience?? Was it a good purchase?
I’m well aware of the space bag brand for clothing storage. However, I find they don’t work that well. Air always seems to seep in. My bestfriend got these bags from organize-it.com that were made of vinyl. They could be flattened by rolling the air out or by vacuuming. I used one this summer and it works fabulously. But I don’t know the name or brand.
Can anyone make some recommendations of great space saver bags besides the plastic ones from space-bags??
I recently purchased a down comforter, but it’s way too difficult to put it back into the original bag for storage. A sales rep at BedBath and Beyond told me to store it in one of those space saver vacuum bags (thus preventing moisture/dust mites from entering). However, in researching down filling, I read that down should not be strenuously compressed, nor compressed for long periods of time. So was the sales rep jerking my chain, or can I store my down comforter by placing it in one of those Space bags and sucking the air out of it with a vacuum? Thanks!
Using the BagButton is simple! 1. Simply place the items into a plastic bag of your choice. 2. Use the BagButton and o-ring to create a secure seal on your bag. 3. Attach the hose from a vacuum cleaner and remove the air from the bag. 4. Remove the BagButton and o-ring, twist and tie off the bag. Now the items are ready for storage in the wardrobe, garage, storage units, linen press, moving boxes, shipping boxs, suitcase, camper, RV, backpack, saddle bags, in a box for mailing or just under the bed.
BagButton’s economical space saving technology allows you to use plastic bags or garbage bags and lets you remove the air with your vacuum cleaner. Vacuum compression space saving storage bags for the price of a garbage bag.
